BC Conservatives call on NDP to cancel China ferry deal

In British Columbia, Conservative Leader John Rustad called on the NDP to cancel a multi-billion-dollar deal to buy new ferries from China, after Beijing imposed punishing tariffs on Canadian peas, pork and canola crops.

Meanwhile, in Ottawa, Conservative transport critic Dan Albas criticized Liberal ministers for providing BC Ferries with a low-interest loan to buy the new vessels from a shipyard with ties to Beijing’s military.
